Whether they are animals or plants, all living things have communication systems. Plants talk to each other through mycelial networks. They communicate and share information and nutrients. Every worm, every insect, every animal works for the ecological well-being of the planet. Only we humans, who claim to be the most intelligent species here, do not do this. There are some things in the world we cannot change – gravity, metamorphosis, the speed of light, and our biological nature which requires clean air, clean water, clean soil, clean energy, and biodiversity for our health and well-being. Protecting the biosphere must be our highest priority, otherwise we will get sick and die. Other things, like capitalism, business, the economy, currency, markets, are not forces of nature, we invented them. They are not immutable, and we can change them. It makes no sense to elevate economies above the biosphere, above our own survival. There is no point in elevating economies above the biosphere.
